Dr. Dene’ Starks-McGee

Dr. Dene’ Starks-McGee is a respected business strategist, entrepreneur, and advocate for small business equity. She is the founder and CEO of DJS Business Solutions, a woman- and minority-owned consulting firm established in 2015. 

With nearly a decade of impact, Dr. Dene’ has led her team in delivering technical assistance, strategic consulting, and economic development support to thousands of entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and government partners throughout California.

Dr. Dene's firm played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving as triage consultants for businesses seeking state and federal relief programs like the PPP and EIDL. 

Her deep knowledge of small business finance, community engagement, and data-driven strategy has earned her a reputation as a trusted advisor to both local entrepreneurs and public agencies.

In 2023–2024, Dene toured six cities across California with the Governor’s Office and the California State Office of the Small Business Advocate, delivering leadership training workshops to empower small business owners across diverse industries.
