Avita Behari

Avita Behari is a committed advocate and experienced leader with over seven years dedicated to supporting communities marginalized by systemic oppression. With a focus on equity and community empowerment, she works to foster inclusive environments that drive meaningful and lasting change. Her strengths lie in strategic planning across programming, operations, and development—always aiming to strengthen systems that support both team members and the broader community. She brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to her work, grounded in the belief that shared leadership and intentional strategy lead to deeper impact.

Throughout her career in the education non-profit sector—from Early Childhood Education through TK-12th grade—Avita has partnered with communities navigating systemic barriers and resource limitations. At the heart of her work is a commitment to innovative, mission-aligned solutions that address both immediate and long-term needs. Her wide-ranging experience has deepened her understanding of what it takes to build strong, community-centered organizations. She remains focused on developing sustainable strategies that promote equity and enhance the capacity of organizations to serve their communities effectively.

Avita is also a graduate of the 2022–2023 Rockwood Leadership Fellowship for California Leaders in Early Care, Learning, and Health. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, playing video games, and watching anime with her partner.
